Angry Monkey created the site for New Line's film The Corruptor, Chow Yun-Fat's second american film. The Corruptor is an urban crime film about police in Chinatown who must compromise their values and themselves to do what they think is right; the site represents that ambiguity visually while also providing fans with essential and exclusive information about the film.
Angry Monkey developed the popular Bizarro animated greeting cards for Shockwave.com. Working with both Macromedia and cartoonist Dan Piraro, we helped bring the bizarre to life.
Mirroring the themes of the movie, the Pleasantville site is affected by your intrusion into its innocent and modest grayscale environs. Our Pleasantville Morning Sun is more than just a swell read; Entertainment Weekly calls it "an engaging and relevant film site -- how pleasant!"
We've been longtime admirers of the comic book medium, so developing the Blade website was especially enjoyable. Based on the vampire slayer first seen in Marvel Comics' The Tomb of Dracula, the Wesley Snipes film version convincingly portrays the dark vision of a world populated with creatures of the night.
Angry Monkey's Jean-Paul Leonard offered his suggestions to potential screenwriters in TV Guide's feature, Writing Your Own TV Show. Part of Season Finales '98, the feature quotes Jean-Paul on writing mechanics and references his ongoing thesis work Home & the Sitcom Ideal (which the L.A. Times reviewed as "erudite-to-the-point-of-baffling").
Angry Monkey's Ben Olander spoke at San Francisco's WEB '98 Design and Development Conference at the Moscone Center. His June 25th roundtable discussion focused on how the production process varies in different media environments -- sampling the web, software, and television industries.
The South may not rise again, but Gone with the Wind has. Send a postcard of Rhett or Scarlett to spread the news, or rewrite the classic as it would be cast and directed today. We personally think Christopher Walken would make a splendid Rhett.
Angry Monkey developed two Lost In Space content pieces for Macromedia's ShockRave. There's a version of our devious Destroy Alpha Prime shockwave game, as well as an exclusive 6 episode Lost In Space flash toon, "Suspended Animation."
Ben Olander spoke at San Francisco's Web.Builder conference from April 14-16. The conference was created by CNet's Builder.com for Web designers, developers, and technically oriented management staff. Ben also sits on the Web.Builder Advisory Board.
We've added a touch of evil to the world. Our Shockwave Flash intensive Dr. Smith's Evil Asteroid is a recent addition to the official Lost in Space site. Entertainment Weekly describes it as "...a chic Goth camp-fest." We couldn't agree more.
The Robinsons are getting lost again, so we've come up with a navigation solution for New Line Cinema's Lost in Space Galaxy. Be sure to check out the shocked version of our homepage design. Where else, but www.dangerwillrobinson.com.
We heard High Five had a few good words to say about a recent Angry Monkey project. Check their review for their complimentary observations.
